- Accident: Two Boalsburg residents were treated and released
from Centre Community Hospital as a result of a one-vehicle accident
Wednesday, the State College Police Department said.
Sarah Schipp, 16, and her passenger were driving on U.S. Route
322 when an animal ran out in front of the vehicle, State College
police said. The car, a 1993 Plymouth Laser, swerved left, crossed
the southbound lane and veered off the road until it stopped in
a ditch, State College police said. The Boalsburg Fire Department
secured the car so it would not fall further into the ditch, State
College police said.
- Simple Assault: A student reported being assaulted early yesterday
morning on Shortlidge Road, University Police Services said. The
person did not receive medical attention and an investigation
is continuing, University police said.
- Theft: An employee of American Outfitters in the Nittany Mall
reported yesterday the theft of 10 jackets from the store throughout
the week, State College police said.
The estimated value of the jackets is $3,600.
- Theft: A student's bed and other items were reported stolen
from his room yesterday in Pennypacker Hall, University police
said. His bed was found in the laundry room and believed to be
part of an April Fool's Day joke, University police said.
- Vandalism: Three individuals were observed damaging a gazebo
on the 400 block of Waupelani Drive early yesterday morning, State
College police said.
Damages are expected to be more than $1,000. State College police
are continuing their investigation.
