"I'm very excited for them (Casagrande and Olivo). They worked
very hard, as did all the candidates in the race, and I feel very
proud for them," she said.
Aside from corporate sponsorship of the Loop, the Casagrande/Olivo
platform includes faster service at Ritenour, language proficient
teaching assistants and workable class sizes.
Roshani Herath and Christine Muchi came in second with 981 votes.
"We're proud that we ran such a clean and hard-fought campaign.
We have no regrets," Herath said.
Andrea Prinzi and J.P. Jaworski got third place with 653 votes.
"They're (Casagrande and Olivo) great people and we're excited
for them," Prinzi said.
"They worked really hard and played fair and we're going
to be nagging them to do a good job," Jaworski said.
Mario Ciabarra and Allison Szabaga garnered 610 votes.
"They worked really hard and they had a strong campaign staff.
I wish them the best of luck," Ciabarra said.
"I want to get as involved as possible next year," Szabaga
said. |
| "I'd just like to start out by saying the real winners tonight
are the students of Penn State because they just got two leaders
who are willing to work their asses off."

An earlier verdict from the elections court disqualified Ciabarra/Szabaga
for poster violations, but the USG Supreme Court overturned the
disqualification verdict and issued the ticket a $100 fine late
Tuesday night.
Rocco Impreveduto and Marc Nathan came in with 500 votes.
"I'm honestly proud of everyone who ran, Caroline and Brian
ran a great campaign. I have all the love and respect for them,"
Impreveduto said.
Todd Krout and Karen Skomoroucha received 334 votes.
"It was a good race, we congratulate them and we hope they
live up to their campaign promises," Krout said.
Kornelius P. Spankum and Kendra Ciesla garnered 45 write-in votes.
"As losers we are going to accomplish more than the winners,
which is absolutely nothing," said Andy Nagypal, a representative
for the campaign.
Neither Spankum nor Ciesla were present last night at the HUB
to hear the election results.
Matt Lohr and B.J. Werzyn, write-in candidates, got 26 votes.

eight or nine years that Barry is an undergraduate student,"
said Son Mguyen, a representative for the campaign.
