Preliminary hearings
BELLEFONTE -- Two residents of Philipsburg were ordered yesterday
by District Justice Allen Sinclair to stand trial for charges
of aggravated assault and simple assault.
Co-defendents William Joseph Bamat, 22 and Mitchell Alan Hubler,
27 and an unknown third person entered the Ramsdale Hotel, 300
N. 2nd St., on Jan. 18 and began taunting a patron seated at the
bar, according to the court documents.
Both co-defendants were asked to leave by the bartender, but refused,
according to the documents. The victim assisted the bartender
in removing the co-defendants at which point the victim was assaulted
at the intersection of Spruce and 2nd streets, according to the
documents. The victim was taken to the Philipsburg Area Hospital
via ambulance, according to the documents.
-- A 28-year-old resident of Enola was ordered yesterday by District
Justice Bradley P. Lunsford to stand trial for charges of simple
assault, according to court documents.
On Nov. 10, in Parking Lot 16, east of Beaver Stadium, Kevin M.
Stago charged at the victim after the victim stepped on his car's
rear bumper; words were exchanged, according to the documents.
The victim stepped away and was pushed to the ground by Stago,
according to the documents. Stago then punched the victim and
wrestled with him while on the ground, according to the documents.
The victim suffered a broken leg as a result of the incident and
a man with him was also punched in the face by Stago, according
to the documents.
