Leann Perez (sophomore-mathematics), a member of the University's
equestrian team, said she saw the show in Harrisburg several years
ago. She describes it as "a type of ballet for animals."
"I thought it was just incredible," she said. "You're
seeing things that you don't think horses are capable of doing."
This type of horse was originally bred to be used in war, and
the performance will include a segment where the horses will entertain
with "leaps and maneuvers, once used by riders in saddle
to protect and defend themselves on the battlefield," according
to the news release.
The stallions also performed at the center Oct. 4, 1996, according
to the center's World Wide Web site. --by Amy Brosey |
