After a win over the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech, the team has advanced to the semifinal game of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) versus the Georgia Bulldogs, which will be played tomorrow in Madison Square Garden. Ceremony marks Women's Day Wanjiru Kamau dedicated the first candle to all grandmothers. She asked the audience members to say their own grandmothers' names as she lit the candle. Today's Academy Awards ceremony is shaping up to be one of the most interesting races in years, complete with comeback stories, photo-finish competitions and, despite the cultural icon known as Titanic, a hint of unpredictability. On Sunday, as it did in each of those years, the dream came true again. 500 and counting Two days before Penn State's WNIT semifinal matchup with Indiana, Lady Lion guard Christine Portland talked a good game, saying the Lions should never have lost to the Hoosiers last month. Gymwomen finish in third at Big Tens The Penn State women's gymnastics team knew it had a better squad than its predecessors which produced less than stellar performances at the last two Big Ten Championships. Lady laxers show desire but come up empty The Penn State women's lacrosse team put the finishing touches on a rough weekend yesterday, stumbling 11-10 against No. 3 Virginia at Holuba Hall. Slip sliding away The Penn State men's lacrosse team encountered a new type of poison ivy this weekend. Badgers carry doubles point to win against netmen The Penn State men's tennis team knew Wisconsin was going to be tough. They knew winning the doubles matches was important. They were correct on both counts but came away with a loss anyway. Boxers to send seven to nationals after Northeast Regional Tourney The Penn State boxing team used the energy of the home crowd to turn its most important match of the year into its most productive one when it hosted the Northeast Regional Tournament in White Building this weekend. Lady Ruggers dominated by Stingers Going into its game against the Maryland Stingers Saturday, the Penn State women's rugby team knew the second-best club team in the nation would pose a threat to its defense. Sluggers rained out in Philadelphia area Inclement weather forced the cancellation of four games over the weekend for the Penn State baseball team.
