USG holds candidate debate
Improving University education and supporting student organizations were frequently addressed topics last night as Undergraduate Student Government presidential and vice presidential candidates met in 110 Wartik Lab for their first debate.

Elections violation reviewed
Mario Ciabarra had a busy night yesterday. After participating in his first Undergraduate Student Government debate, presidential candidate Ciabarra (junior-science) went before the USG Elections Court to face charges of a campaign violation from earlier this week.

Hobbies follow trustee through his endeavors
Some people collect stamps. Other people collect coins. David Morrow collects bells -- long strings of bells that were originally from sleighs.

Boalsburg resident Marci Hughes said eating a diet consisting of mostly raw fruits and vegetables cured her of cancer.

BELLEFONTE -- Retired Professor Julian Heicklen has been trying for several weeks to get his day in court.

Climbing the walls
Members of the Outing Club are preparing to scale new heights come this fall. The club is seeking endorsements from student organizations to support the construction of an indoor rock-climbing wall in the Intramural Building.

One-woman show to appear tonight

Increased police presence responds to 30 incidents
The State College Police Department responded to 30 incidents between 5 p.m. Tuesday evening and 5 a.m. yesterday morning, according to a news release from the department.

ATLANTA -- Pete Lisicky's message was simple, but effective. With 11 minutes and 55 seconds left to play in last night's men's National Invitation Tournament quarterfinal game against Georgia Tech, with the Nittany Lions up by two points, the senior guard went to his bench and yelled, "This is our time."

Wrestlers seek higher level at nationals
Since the beginning of the season, Penn State wrestling coach John Fritz has maintained one goal for his team. "To consistently improve, to get a little bit better each time," he said. "And the ultimate goal is to be peaking, to be at your best, at the end of the season for the NCAAs."

It has been a long time since the Penn State men's volleyball team has been in a comfortable position heading into a match like it is right now.

Doctors and scientists all around the globe are frantically searching for a cure for an uncontrollable disease that broke out in the Midwest and quickly spread East, South, West and North. To date, nothing can be taken for this disease. Once you have come in contact with its symptoms madness will surely overwhelm your body. Luckily this disease is only seasonal. For it is only in March one will show full-blown symptoms.

Today is the day the Penn State fencing team has been looking forward to all season. Today, the fencers begin the final stage in their quest for a fourth consecutive national championship.

Laxers do scheduling makeover
Last year's 8-4 season record of the Penn State men's lacrosse team was just not good enough. The Nittany Lions battled with top-ranked opponents for those four losses. Despite a highly respectable record, the Lions' season ended without a NCAA Tournament bid.

Behind the lines
The addition of a new rule in NCAA women's lacrosse this season has changed the face of the game. A restraining line has been set at each team's 30-yard line. This line limits the number of players who can be in the offensive zone -- seven offensive players against seven defensive players and a goalkeeper.

After two seasons without basketball, Penn State guard Chrissy Falcone has picked up her game in the postseason.

Boxers primed for regionals
It was only one tournament, the final regular season tune-up in preparation for the monumental Northeast Regionals. But don't tell the Penn State boxing team that its March 7th tournament in Lexington, Ky., at the Kentucky Invitational was meaningless.

Club baseball drops four in last regular season warm-up
While most students were leaving State College for a week of relaxation, the Penn State club baseball team took a spring break of its own.

Pair of strongmen ready for Texas
On March 23, two Penn State students will travel to Fort Hood, Texas, to compete with some of the strongest men in the country. Junior Steve Mann and sophomore Erik Steiner will test their strength at the USA Collegiate Nationals of Powerlifting.
