Preliminary Hearings

  • BELLEFONTE -- A 20-year-old State College resident was ordered to stand trial yesterday by District Justice Carmine Prestia on charges of forgery, criminal attempt, theft by deception and receiving stolen property, according to court documents.

    Qia N. Richardson allegedly attempted to buy money orders with counterfeit dollar bills in two State College stores, according to the documents.

  • A 21-year-old State College resident was ordered to stand trial yesterday by District Justice Prestia on charges of theft and receiving stolen property, according to court documents.

    James Brian Alexander Miller allegedly stole compact discs from an acquaintance's residence, according to the documents.

  • A 32-year-old Morrisdale resident was ordered to stand trial yesterday by District Justice Allen Sinclair on charges of rape, sexual assault and intimidation of a witness or victim, according to court documents.

    Michael J. Teats allegedly raped his girlfriend in April of last year, according to the documents. During the rape, Teats also made threats on the victim's family, according to the documents.
