USG presidential tickets announced

Countdown: 15 days.

When students vote for the Undergraduate Student Government president and vice president April 1, six tickets will be on the ballot, although write-in candidates can still launch campaigns.

These tickets, listed in alphabetical order, registered with the USG Elections Commission yesterday:

  • Caroline Casagrande (junior-international politics) and Brian Olivo (junior-advertising)

    Casagrande is a USG town senator and Olivo is a Lion Ambassador, a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, 321 E. Fairmount Ave., and director of the USG Big Ten Committee.

  • Mario Ciabarra (junior-business administration) and Allison Szabaga (sophomore-marketing)

    Ciabarra is the presidential adviser of the Business Student Council and a Lion Ambassador. Szabaga is president of Adopt-A-School, a member of the Business Student Council and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, 10 Wolf.

  • Roshani Herath (senior-labor and industrial relations) and Christine Muchi (senior-labor and industrial relations)

    Herath is the co-director of the USG Legal Affairs Department and a member of the Programming Coordination Board. Muchi is co-director of Habitat for Humanity.

  • Rocco Impreveduto (junior-telecommunications) and Marc Nathan (junior-finance)

    Impreveduto is vice president of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, 215 HUB, and treasurer of College Democrats. Nathan is a member of Delta Chi fraternity, 424 E. Fairmount Ave., and is a student adviser in the Smeal College of Business Administration.

  • Todd Krout (junior-international business management) and Karen Skomorucha (sophomore-international politics)

    Krout is a USG North Halls senator, the senate staff coordinator and a member of the senate's Legislation and Appropriations Review Committee. Skomorucha is a member of the senate staff.

  • Andrea Prinzi (junior-political science and administration of justice) and J. P. Jaworski (junior-life sciences)

    Prinzi is a USG legal affairs counselor and the rush chair of Phi Gamma Nu business fraternity. Jaworski is a member of Eco-Action.

The first candidate debate will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in 110 Wartick. A second debate is scheduled for Monday from 7 to 10 p.m. in 301 HUB. The final debate is scheduled to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. March 30 in 102 Thomas.

There will also be two "Meet the Candidates" sessions. The first is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. March 26 at the Student Book Store, 330 E. College Ave. The second is scheduled to be from noon to 2 p.m. March 31 outside Willard Building.
