Packing secrets revealed for clothing-conscious
After deciding what to pack, the biggest dilemma for spring break
travelers is often how to fit everything into a suitcase without
the clothes turning into a crumpled, wrinkly mess.
Bob Fogelsanger, president of Balfurd Cleaners, 320 W. Beaver
Ave., said packing neatly is the key to avoiding wrinkles.
How jeans and T-shirts are packed is less important, he said,
but with nicer clothes such as dresses and shirts, students may
want to take some precautions.
Using tissue paper can help, he said. Students should lay tissue
paper down, and then fold the sleeves and body of their clothes
into thirds to avoid wrinkles, he said.
Timing is also important when it comes to packing.
Spring break travelers should hang up their clothes when they
get to their destination, and many of the wrinkles will work their
way out, Fogelsanger said.
"Pack right before you go, and then unpack as soon as you
get there," he said.
