Outgoing Interfraternity Council President Gordon Savage gave
incoming IFC President Brad Nestico a pin, a gavel and a key to
the IFC office.
The members of the new IFC executive council were inducted last
night at a ceremony at Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, 351 E. Fairmount
Ave.
As he gave the gavel to Nestico, Savage said he has learned about
leadership and authority through his position.
"This means a lot to me," Savage said, referring to
the gavel.

Nestico, of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, 417 E. Prospect Ave., along
with Executive Vice President Brian Eckert, of Lambda Chi Alpha
fraternity, and Treasurer Ruari Monahan, of Sigma Chi fraternity,
400 E. Prospect Ave. was elected Feb. 16 at Delta Sigma Phi fraternity,
508 Locust Lane.
Along with the three elected officers, four appointed officers
were sworn in as well. These were Administrative Vice President
Kris Krajewski, of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity, 329 E. Prospect
Ave.; Vice President of Membership Michael Ling, of Sigma Chi
fraternity; Board of Control Chairman Eric Malinowski, of Tau
Kappa Epsilon fraternity, 346 E. Prospect Ave.; and Vice President
of Communication Jim Sirianni, of Zeta Psi fraternity, 142 McAllister
St.
"We are looking to promote intellectual, philanthropic and
social values of the fraternities," Nestico said. "We
want to maintain cooperation between social fraternities and their
respective international headquarters, the State College community
and the University."
IFC also wants to secure the right to self-govern and increase
communication among all IFC members, Nestico said.
Sirianni said he is looking forward to his position because it
involves more challenges. His position, formerly called IFC secretary,
was recently changed to vice president of communication.
"They've stepped up the new position to include new responsibilities
and I'm ready to step it up as well," Sirianni said.
The new IFC executive council is united and holds similar views,
said Monahan, IFC treasurer.
"We do click very well," he said.
