Laxers take on Notre Dame; Sluggers in S.C.
The Penn State lacrosse team once again kicks off its season tomorrow
at noon in South Bend, Ind., with a game against Notre Dame.
Exactly a year ago tomorrow, the Fighting Irish spanked the Nittany
Lions 9-5 at Notre Dame in Penn State's season opener. Lion coach
Glenn Thiel is awaiting the challenge and hopes history doesn't
repeat itself.
"It's the first big challenge of the year," he said.
"It was a tough game last year, they kind of dominated us
in the second half. It's a great opener and a tough place to go
play. I think well be okay."
In other spring sports, the Lion baseball team will be in Rock
Hill, S.C., for a three-game series with Winthrup starting with
a doubleheader Saturday at noon and culminating with a 1:30 game
on Sunday.
The men's golf team will be at the Queens Harbor Country Club
in Jacksonville, Fla., this weekend to compete in the Mercedes-Benz
Classic starting tomorrow and continuing through the weekend.
The men's tennis team is also in action 10 a.m. Sunday.at Harvard.
