The Interfraternity Council elected its new president, executive
vice president and treasurer last night at Delta Sigma Phi fraternity,
508 Locust Lane.
Brad Nestico of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, 417 E. Prospect Ave.,
was elected IFC president. Brian Eckert of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity,
351 E. Fairmount Ave., was elected executive vice president. Ruari
Monahan of Sigma Chi fraternity, 400 E. Prospect Ave., was elected
treasurer. The induction for the newly elected officers will be
March 2.
"I'm extremely excited and appreciative of the council's
confidence in me as the newly elected IFC president," Nestico,
the outgoing IFC secretary, said.
His goals for IFC include creating better communication between
the IFC executive council and the chapter members, increasing
membership and creating a more active risk management policy,
Nestico said.

Incoming Executive Vice President Eckert said the organization
needs to unite instead of being 55 separate chapters just working
together.
"Together we stand and divided we fall," Eckert said
prior to the voting. "This is our house. We are all brothers.
I am here for you. I want to see and help each of you to excel."
Monahan, incoming treasurer, said the position of treasurer is
a two-headed coin involving financial and executive council aspects.
"(The campaign has) been a lot of work," Monahan said.
"I'm relieved and ecstatic."
Nestico, Eckert and Monahan will appoint the rest of the IFC executive
council, including the administrative vice president, the vice
president of membership, the board of control chair and the vice
president of communications within the next few weeks. They will
also appoint the standing committee chairmen.
The other candidates for president, executive vice president and
treasurer were, respectively, Kris Krajewski of Kappa Alpha Order
fraternity, 329 E. Prospect Ave., Peter Krow of Beta Theta Pi
fraternity, 220 N. Burrowes Road, and Tim Bresnahan of Beta Theta
Pi fraternity.
