Voice Your View

Voice Your View

Last week's question was:

What is your view of President Clinton's latest scandal? Does it affect your confidence in his ability to serve as president?

Here are some of the responses left on our call-in line.

I still feel the same way about President Clinton.

I think that he probably lied about the Monica Lewinsky incident. But I believe all presidents have probably lied some time in their career.

My view on the President Clinton scandal is it's not a scandal, and the man's sex life has nothing to do with how he runs the country. He's run the country excellent so far.

He's done this in the face of all that Gennifer Flowers mess, all that Paula Jones mess, and I don't think this latest "scandal" -- if you want to call it that -- will have any effect on his ability to run the country.

I am extremely tired of hearing or reading about the president's scandal. It is absolutely ridiculous that the American media has nothing better to print but daily 10-page spreads on the issue.

I feel the only way the scandal is going to affect the well-being of the nation is in giving material-lacking comedians more tasteless jokes for the next few months. I don't care about the issue, and I don't want to hear any more about it.

I believe that my confidence in President Clinton has not been lessened with this latest scandal and this latest information.

I believe he can still serve as a great president and continue to do his job as well as he has done this far. This is only a mere problem he will encounter before it will blow over and he will get his life back to normal.

During his first term and through two years of his second, Bill Clinton has done a great job shaping our economy for the turn of the century and resorting confidence in the workplace.

However, if the president lied under oath, my confidence in him as a representative of our country is eliminated. If he committed perjury, one of the worse nonviolent crimes, he should be severely punished and possibly impeached.

What would happen to this society and economy if the people who run it were ousted for their discretions?

America's on top and doing well. We knew what Bill Clinton was all about before we elected him for a second term. Public opinion polls show their support for the president's job performance.

I'm more concerned about the grotesque amount of taxpayer money being spent on the investigation of a president who is doing his job well.

We should only be concerned with the arrogance of Big Brother exposing himself to the public and thinking we didn't care.
