  • Accident: An 87-year-old woman suffered head injuries Saturday when the 1996 Ford Explorer she was riding in landed on its roof after the driver lost control on a snow-covered road, the State College Police Department said.

    The driver, Stephen S. Groves, and another passenger were uninjured, but Margaret P. Fox was taken to Centre Community Hospital and treated for head lacerations and released, a hospital representative said.

    The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Linden Hall Road in Harris Township when the accident occurred, State College police said.

  • Burglary: An automatic key machine was stolen between Thursday evening and early Friday morning from Lezzer Lumber Co., 2350 E. College Ave., State College police said.

    The estimated value of the machine is $2,500.

  • Criminal Mischief: An employee of Heilig-Meyers, 424 Westerly Parkway, reported a steel drum, containing about 5 inches of solidified cooking fat was thrown into the front window of the store overnight Friday, State College police said.

    The estimated value of the damage is unknown.

  • Criminal Mischief: A windshield of a 1992 Honda Civic was smashed between Friday and Saturday night, State College police said.

    Megan Souders reported her car was vandalized at her residence on the 100 block of Locust Lane, State College police said.

    The estimated value of the damage is unknown.

  • Drug Laws: A University resident assistant reported Thursday night the odor of burning marijuana coming from a room in Brumbaugh Hall, University Police Services said.

    Officers seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the room and the residents were identified, University police said.

  • Theft:  A visitor reported the theft of several personal items Friday from room 316 of the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

    The estimated value of the items is $600.

  • Theft: A University employee reported Thursday the theft of two chairs between Jan. 12 and Thursday from the Fisher Hall television lounge, University police said.

    The estimated value of the chairs is $600.

  • Theft: Fog lights were removed from a student's vehicle between Oct. 31 and Nov. 14 while it was parked in Parking Lot 83N, University police said.

    The estimated value of the lights is $400.

  • Theft: Nancy Cipriotti reported yesterday that her black leather jacket was stolen from the U Building on Bellaire Avenue, State College police said. The jacket also contained a wallet and gold watch.

    The estimated value of the jacket and its contents is $215.
