- Arrest: Darriel D. King was arrested Tuesday for theft, theft
by deception, credit card fraud and criminal mischief after an
investigation, University Police Services said. King, of 407 Hill Drive, is accused of stealing credit cards from
a University student's dorm room between Jan. 9 and 10, University
police said. King was invited into the student's room before the
theft occurred, University police said. King was arraigned before District Justice Carmine Prestia, and
is being held in Centre County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail,
University police said.
- Criminal Mischief: Two separate incidents of damage to traffic
diverters occurred late Monday night and late Tuesday night, the
State College Police Department said. State College police officers found a wooden post, part of a traffic
diverter, broken Tuesday morning at the corner of North Allen
Street and Adams Street. A neighborhood resident reported to police
Tuesday that another post at the same intersection was broken,
State College police said. Officers discovered two more posts broken later that night at
the intersection of North Burrowes Street and Hillcrest Avenue.
The public works department has been alerted of the damage to
the diverters, State College police said.
- Disorderly Conduct: A student reported someone firing a BB gun
at pedestrians from the fifth floor of Mifflin Hall, University
police said. Two students were apprehended, questioned and later
released, University police said. The case is still under investigation.
