TCI reorganizes listings; deletes, moves channels
Tele-Communications Inc. of central Pennsylvania changed local
channel listings for State College Jan. 5, according to a local
company representative.
The changes, which affect all of State College, include the deletion
of channels such as The Playboy Channel and Request 4 pay-per-view
channel and changes to some of the other remaining channels, said
Jeff Matter, a representative of TCI. The changes will make way
for the introduction of expanded digital cable service, making
extra channels available in a few weeks through a digital converter
box available from the cable company, Matter said.
The changed channels are as follows:
Deleted Channels: Channel 72, Playboy Channel, and Channel 78,
Request 4.
Moved Channels: Disney Channel to Channel 71, PCN to Channel 22,
FOX News to Channel 29, The Discovery Channel to Channel 23, Showtime
to Channel 72.
Time-share: CSPAN2 will air from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and FiT TV will
air from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Channel 28.
Channels available with the converter box: Discovery Kids, SCI-FI,
Gameshow Network, Bravo!, Discovery Travel, Home & Garden
Network, History, Discovery Science, CBS Eye on People, BBC America,
FOX Sports World, ESPNNews , Classic Sports Network, Outdoor Life,
MuchMusic, Turner Classic Movies, Romance Classics, Independent
Film and Spice channels. Viewers will also receive eight pay-per-view
channels, HBO 2 and 3, Encore Western, Mystery and Love Stories
channels, Starz!2, Showtime 2 and The Movie Channel.
