Speech Comm changes format In a University with about 40,000 undergraduates, small classes with teacher-instructor interaction are few and far between. A change in the format of one course has raised concern that one of the few remaining small courses will be lost. Local design board awards fraternities renovations Even in the midst of a heated debate about student housing within the borough, renovations to properties in the fraternity district have not gone unnoticed by borough officials. The No. 9 Lady Lions extended their win streak to six games by upsetting No. 4 Temple, 10-6, on Saturday, then throttling Big Ten rival Ohio State, 14-3, on Sunday. Sluggers take two from Gophers Minnesota's third baseman Matt Scanlon doubled to lead off the top of the seventh inning of Penn State's second game of a four-game series against Minnesota and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt. Spikers show no mercy against Queens College Just before the EIVA quarterfinal match Saturday night at Rec Hall, Queens College outside hitter Henry Hilaire looked at the crowd and his teammates. He then bent down on one knee and blessed himself. Laxers edge Hobart in close one The shroud of fog that blanketed distant Mount Nittany for much of Penn State's 12-11 double-overtime win against Hobart on Saturday was starting to lift as the end of regulation grew near. Lady linksters win tournament The Lady Lions got a much needed boost by winning the Lady Lion Invitational despite the downpour of rain in Saturday's play and gusty, cold winds affecting yesterday's play. Bump & company leave Gophers in daze The weathered faces on the pack of major league scouts on hand at yesterday's Penn State vs. Minnesota doubleheader did not light up when Nittany Lion right hander Nate Bump wound up and fired his first pitch. Netmen stay afloat; split Big Ten weekend series The Penn State men's tennis team had an opportunity to get back to .500 in the Big Ten by beating two nationally ranked teams this weekend. Lady laxers win streak reaches six Following a victory over Vanderbilt on Mar. 16, Penn State women's lacrosse coach Julie Williams hoped her team was finally ready to realize it's preseason potential, which had the Lady Lions at No. 4 in the early polls. Trackmen flee with four titles at Invitational The Penn State men's outdoor track and field team showed the Big 12 conference it is for real Saturday at the Tom Botts Invitational in Missouri.
