Trackwomen get ready for Raleigh Relays

The Penn State women's track and field team will travel to N.C. State to compete in the Raleigh Relays today and tomorrow.

The Raleigh Relays feature 150 teams competing in relay and individual events.

The Lady Lions are coming off an indoor season in which they finished fifth at the Big Ten championships. Senior Kim McGreevy earned All-American honors in the mile run. She was also named an academic All-American.



Divers to represent Penn State at NCAAs

Drew Jackson (Portland, Ore.) and Seth Kane (Deerfield, Ill.) will represent Penn State at the 1997 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota this weekend. The championships began Thursday and end tomorrow.

Both divers will compete in the one and three-meter events after qualifying at the 1997 NCAA Prequalification Zone A Championships at Princeton last weekend.

Jackson qualified for the third consecutive year after winning the three-meter event (511.65 points) and placing second in the one-meter competition (512.60). In 1995, Jackson posted his best NCAA performance, taking 20th in the three-meter and 29th in the one-meter.

Kane will make his first NCAA championships appearance after finishing second in the three-meter (504.75) and fifth in the one-meter (451.25) in the Zone A qualifier.
