"We really made that happen," Lion coach Joe Hindelang said. "We broke their backs offensively and defensively."

Penn State finished off Saturday's sweep with a 7-4 victory in the second game.

LaSalle claimed the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, holding Penn State scoreless in a 2-0 pitching duel.

In that game, Lion catcher/left fielder Jeremy Deitrick had his 17-game hitting streak broken.

But the Lions fired back in the second game, unloading for 15 runs in a 15-4 closing victory.
