Court finds State College man guilty of six drug charges

A State College man was found guilty last week of selling drugs to undercover police officers on two separate occasions in 1995 and 1996. Amin O. Robinson was convicted of six drug-related charges after selling cocaine on July 28, 1995, and marijuana on January 29, 1996, in State College.

Robinson was already charged with drug delivery resulting in death after Rhonda L. Aughey, 23, was found dead on February 21, 1996, from an overdose of cocaine and heroin in a hotel room she shared with Robinson. The room was at the Courtyard by Marriott, 1730 University Drive.

The charge was thrown out by Centre County President Judge Charles Brown Jr. based on a state Supreme Court ruling that the charge is unconstitutional.

Robinson will be tried, however, for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl in July 1995 and the alleged indecent assault of a 15-year-old girl in April 1995 in Robinson's car.

These charges are unrelated to last week's conviction.

A sentencing date for the drug charges has been set for April 15.
