  • Criminal Mischief: A University Police Services officer reported yesterday that the telephone in the lobby of Fisher Hall had been damaged between an unknown time and yesterday afternoon, University police said.

    The value and the perpetrator are unknown.


  • Fire: University Police Services received a fire alarm yesterday at 12:18 a.m. in Cross Hall.

    An investigation revealed that smoke coming from a trash can on the ground floor lounge activated the alarm, University police said.

    There were no damages.


  • Health and Safety: A University police officer assisted a fall victim yesterday afternoon near the Visual Arts Building, University police said.

    The victim was taken to the Centre Community Hospital and treated for a dislocated shoulder.

    The victim was later released, University police said.


  • Theft: A visitor to the University reported Tuesday night that her credit card was stolen from her backpack at a fraternity on the 300 block of Fraternity Row in January, the State College Police Department said.

    The woman was not aware of the theft until the credit card company called her a month ago to inquire about cash advances been made on the card nine times from late January to early February at three banks in the State College area, State College police said.

    The personal identification number was on the back of the card.

    An investigation is continuing, police said.

    The value of the cash advances is $5,536.68.


  • Theft: Barry L. Campbell, an employee of Associated Realty Property Management, 456 E. Beaver Ave., reported Tuesday that two exit signs in an apartment building were stolen, State College police said.

    The incident occurred at an unknown time.

    Police said they have three suspects.

    The estimated value of the signs is $250.


  • Theft: Eric Grumling, an employee of TCI Media Services, 1050 Benner Pike, reported Tuesday that his electronic organizer was stolen from the building last Thursday while he was working, State College police said.

    He said a man came in, identified himself as a cleaning man, then left five minutes later after not cleaning.

    Grumling was working in the back of the building while the man was supposedly cleaning, and the organizer had been left in the front of the building.

    Police have a suspect and are following up on the incident.
