Thanks for `Thon
The weekend of Feb. 14-16 was a weekend that will be remembered
by our family for a lifetime. We are referring to the memories
we made at the Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon
held at the University.
Our family was one of the many families in attendance who go through
the trials and tribulations of childhood cancer every day. Dance
marathon weekend is an uplifting, hope-building experience that
keeps us believing that miracles can happen and that dreams can
come true.
The "Miracles in Motion" theme was absolutely appropriate
for this year's dance marathon!
We wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in
'Thon '97 and offer special thanks to Phi Mu sorority and Phi
Mu Delta fraternity, who adopted us and danced 48 hours straight
for Felicia.
A better group of young adults would be hard to find! Dance marathon
was an experience we will never forget and hope to be able to
experience the feeling it brings for many years to come.
It has been said that a hero is someone who does what has to be
done, when it has to be done, regardless of the consequences.
Thank you to all of those involved with dance marathon, specifically
the dancers, for being our heroes!!
