Letter from the Dance Marathon Magazine Editor
Dear Readers,
After spending a majority of the week complaining how tired I was because I was up late working on this magazine, I had a
revelation. I realized that no matter how tired I felt, I wasn't
nearly as tired as the dancers who are sacrificing their weekend, as
well as sleep, to participate in dance marathon and help the Four
Diamonds Fund.
As I began to think about it further, I remembered that the kids
at the marathon have also been tired from chemotherapy treatments
and extensive tests. And I can never imagine what that kind fatigue
is like.
And then I remembered the parents, who have probably spent
countless nights worrying about the health of their kids, asking
themselves why it was their child who got sick, and wishing they
could only take their child's place. They understand what
exhaustion is.
That is a kind of fatigue that I hope I never experience. And
I wish that a time comes in the families' lives when they won't
have to ever go through another sleepless night.
This scrapbook looks back at the dancers, doctors and
nurses, staff, committee members and the kids and parents who
all lost a little sleep in the fight against cancer. Their work will
be remembered always.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Strawser,
Collegian Magazine editor
