Uni-Mart robber injures clerk, evades State College police
The Uni-Mart located at 1320 E. College Ave. was robbed at about
10:30 a.m. yesterday, the State College Police Department said.
The suspect brandished at least one blunt instrument and fled
the scene on foot, police said.
The suspect is described as a middle-aged black male, approximately
6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and was wearing a green
army coat, gray tousle cap and sneakers, police said.
The clerk was injured during the robbery and is currently being
treated at Centre Community Hospital with head and chest injuries,
police said. The seriousness of the injuries has not yet been
determined, but the clerk is conscious, police said.
Police would like to speak with the white male who was jogging
on Squirrel Drive toward Branch Road at the time of the robbery,
police said. The jogger is described as approximately 5 feet 9
inches tall and was wearing a gray sweatsuit.
