Friends of Live bring band back to Crowbar

Live, the popular rock band that rose to national success out of York, will kick off the tour for its upcoming album, Secret Samadhi, here in the center of its home state.

Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave., will host the first show of the tour on Feb. 10. Tickets are available primarily to members of the fan club Friends of Live, who were able to purchase tickets for $15 Saturday at Crowbar. The club members were notified of the concert and ticket information through a mailing that was sent out from the club's Lehigh Valley headquarters.

Remaining tickets will be available to the general public at 5 p.m. tomorrow at Crowbar, also for $15. The tickets are in limited quantity and available on a first come, first served basis.

"Friends of Live is an established list," said David Wells, director of operations for Dante's Restaurants, Inc. "There's a real, real confidential arrangement for the whole thing."

Friends of Live was involved in the Live concert at Crowbar last spring, for which general public tickets sold out within hours.

Friends of Live first approached Crowbar about the concert arrangement for the show last year, based on the success Crowbar had been having promoting national acts, Wells said.

"We developed a strong reputation . . . for national acts . . . not only with the artists themselves, but with the agencies," he said.

Many of the fans who lined up for the concert last spring got tickets, Wells said. Crowbar will allow a maximum capacity of 625 for the upcoming show, he said.
