Metallica to perform at Bryce Jordan Center

Metallica will perform at 7 p.m. March 2 at The Bryce Jordan Center, with opening act Corrosion of Conformity.

Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. Feb. 1. at the center's box office, as well as Eisenhower Auditorium South Box Office, select Uni-Mart locations, select Commonwealth Campus locations and via phone at 865-5555 and 1-800-863-3336. The cost will be $35.50 and $25.50 for reserved seating and general admission, respectively.

"I think it will do very well," said Robb Larson, director of marketing and promotion for the center. Larson said the announcement is timely, following the Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Artist of the Year Award Metallica won Monday night at the American Music Awards.

The Smashing Pumpkins, who will perform at the center tonight, also won an award for Alternative Artist of the Year.

"It couldn't be better timing," he said.
