HUB eatery hours less, seating area increased
Late-night snackers will now only have until 3 a.m. to satisfy
their hunger at the HUB.
Dough to Go will no longer be open late into the night. The Cellar
will be open until 3 a.m. instead of closing at 11 p.m. No food
service will be available past 3 a.m.
"I think it's still going to accommodate students, it's just
not going to be wasteful," said Undergraduate Student Government
President Sharon Entenberg.
A larger seating area, increased variety in the menu and the large-screen
television will make the changes positive, Entenberg added.
The changes were made because few students utilized the service
past 2 a.m. last semester, David Gingher, assistant director of
food services, said.
Food services kept track of the numbers throughout the semester
and decided the changes were necessary to minimize waste.
Fall semester was the first time the HUB was open to students
24 hours. Entenberg said the problem with food service was one
of the kinks the organizers had to work out.
"We didn't know what we were getting into until we went through
this semester," Gingher said.
