At some point this semester, a dramatic change is expected to occur in the Open Access to Student Information Systems (OASIS), according to University Registrar J. James Wager -- it will, hopefully, become accessible through the World Wide Web.

With a mix of talented freshmen and experienced seniors, the Penn State men's gymnastics team posted a strong second-place finish in its first meet this weekend.

Injuries a real pain for Dunn's cagers
Right now, Jerry Dunn is probably wishing for either a huge can of Raid or a really, really big fly swatter. His desire for some kind of pest control is probably due to the recent injury bug that has been biting his team.

Big movies make bucks, but indies get raves
Heroin Addicts. Witches. Assassins. Eccentric pianists. It's just a routine year for the film-making industry.

Best spins of 1996
It would be a critic's cliché to say the music of 1996 was simply more of the same. And while the world's most prostituted popular art was indeed butchered some more last year and audiences were saturated with what we can, for the sake of convenience, dismiss as meaningless re-hashings, it would be negligent not to go back with a fine-toothed comb to bring forth the memorable moments.

'Evita' delivers Madonna as serious actress, singer
After seemingly endless months of hype, the much-anticipated Evita finally opened nationwide Friday. With so much riding on a single movie -- the future of musical films, as well as Madonna's career as a serious actress -- Evita had to deliver.

Who is this Santa Evita?
Maria Eva Duarte de Paron, born in 1919 in Los Toldos, Argentina, was the daughter of Juana Ibarguren and her rich, married lover Juan Duarte. Juan Duarte was killed in a car accident in 1920 and Eva and her family were not permitted to attend the funeral. This scarred Eva and she never forgot the differences between the workers and the elite.

'Flynt' glosses over porn debate, truth
The People vs. Larry Flynt is a one-sided movie. It tells a true story the way it wants to. It bends the truth. Sometimes, it even outright lies.
