Candidates discuss budget issue
In the aftermath of government shutdowns and partisan politicking, the federal government has yet to agree on how to balance the national budget. Candidates for the 5th Congressional District think they may have some of the answers.

CCSG coordinator title changed to president
J. Benjamin Faulds and Tim Daniels may have won the election for the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments coordinator and vice coordinator, but they will be called by new titles -- president and vice president.

From riding the Loop to walking, there are many ways to see the University campus. But on Friday, students were able to see the University in a more unusual way -- by helicopter.

On June 2, 1995, an American pilot was shot down over Banja Luka, Bosnia. His plane, an F-16 fighter jet, was sliced in two, creating a big fireball in the sky. It had been unclear if the American had survived because of thick clouds in the area.

The Council of Commonwealth Student Governments elected two new leaders on Saturday -- J. Benjamin Faulds and Tim Daniels -- in the midst of revamping the Commonwealth Educational System and implementing a $25 student activity fee.

After final exams are done next week, students will have to call 800-876-0354 to get their final grades.

MOVIN' RIGHT ALONG
There was a lot of hay at the annual Movin' On festival that took place Saturday on the HUB lawn. Placed on the lawn to prevent the mud pits that have formed at festivals past, the hay was scattered by the occasional gust of wind and blown through the crowd and up on to the stage.

Cameras clicked and camcorders hummed as proud parents captured the success of Earth Day's poetry and illustration contest winners yesterday on the HUB lawn.
