All the hype and national signing day has come and gone. It is kind of like Christmas, you prepare for months, then wham, it's over in a day. Hey, you might have been disappointed when you looked under the tree and found a pair of socks, but you can't be disappointed with this recruiting season.

Head for the mountains
Kyle Dixon got a 10-speed for his 15th birthday and took to breaking it in on a paved two-lane path that was the result of a rails-to-trails makeover, the former Washington & Old Dominion railroad. The path, stretching from Washington, D.C., to the Virginia foothills, was marked every half-mile and Dixon's home in Reston, Va., was at the 18-mile mark. He made it his goal each trip to ride the W&OD a half-mile past his previous distance, often through remote wooded areas, until he reached the 60-mile mark at the end of the path. Soon he built the endurance to complete the 84-mile trek in full.

Kincaid rides cycling success to Olympic trials, sponsorship
The bicycles are stripped to the bare essentials, set at a fixed gear and capable of pedaling forward and backward on an oval track that is 333-meters long with 35-degree banks steep enough to accommodate large bursts of speed in short races.

Out of Africa, miler returns to PSU track
The men's indoor track and field team has had many great moments this season, but perhaps the best was the return of David McMillan, who at 32, ran the mile in four minutes, 17.87 seconds. McMillan competed unattached at the meet.
