Penn State proud?

When I first came to Penn State, New Kensington Campus, all I heard was Penn State proud and never do anything that would make Penn State look bad and Rah Rah Rah.

Here at the New Kensington Campus we have a basketball team that has beaten nearly everyone they have played and were nationally ranked at one point in the season, and no one knows. Where is the Penn State proud?

While you at main campus sit and complain that you're not getting your fair share of the gravy, we have to figure out how to get along without programs and still can't buy a decent can of pop on campus. Pepsi is garbage.

The reason I finally got angry enough to write this is simple. My son and I were watching basketball at home on the weekend. When he saw that the tournament's first round was being played at Penn State main campus he thought it might be possible to go see the game. When I told him that the campus hadn't been notified the games were to be played at Penn State and I probably couldn't get in, he said it was pretty stupid, if all the campus people couldn't go then no one should be able to go. It is hard to dispute the logic of children.

I think it might be time for everyone to understand that along with Penn State proud, should come some equity. At the campus I attend we have to work just as hard as you do, yet we never know about events there unless you need us there to get our money. If you can send out the information on the Hootie and the Blowfish concert in time to get all our money then I would think you could send information on other things just as easily.

In case this just lets me vent and only I feel better then so be it. On the other hand if someone there sees the logic in everyone getting a fair shake then all the better. It's about time.
