Letter to the Editor
Facts, not fluff

I got involved in the Undergraduate Student Government less than a year ago. Prior to my involvement, I felt, like most other students, that USG did not adequately represent the student body. This year, USG has had its moments: fighting against the town's restrictive housing plan and lobbying Harrisburg for more state funding. During this year, I have had the pleasure of working with the USG Senate president and the Supreme Court chief justice. Both individuals are now running to be your next USG president. You have the unique opportunity to send forward a representative, one that can take your ideas to the administration during a time when Penn State's president is changing. Now, more than ever, the University will be open to new ideas and changes.

Corey O'Brien is an individual who is never afraid of change. He continually re-examines problems and looks for better solutions. His ethics are unquestionable. While others muddle in internal politics and mudslinging, he maintains dignity and decorum. He's outgoing and personable; he's a real student who is interested in facts, not fluff.

Kara Annechini has never been involved in USG. Her leadership skills were developed outside of the chaos that is often associated with USG. She challenges herself and others around her to look at problems from a different perspective and to always seek what's best for students. She's hard-working and issues-focused. She's a real student who wants results -- not rhetoric.

You have the power of choice. Election Day is March 29 and you will choose between status-quo politicians and real students. Those real students are Corey O'Brien and Kara Annechini. Please choose wisely for this is the year to make a difference.
