IFC meets for installation of new officers
By KEIGHTLEY WITTICH
Last night at Beta Sigma Beta fraternity, 255 E. Fairmount Ave., the Interfraternity Council held its Installation Meeting to officially end the transition period. At that time IFC transferred control to the newly elected and appointed executive board members and committee chairs and sub-chairs.
The new IFC President Bruce Booth thinks that although his new executive board has "big shoes to fill," it will do the job well.
"This past exec did a lot of good things. Hopefully we can work together to bring the system together especially concerning the University, administration and community," Booth said.
Former IFC President Mike Steinberg said he expects Booth to handle his new responsibilities well.
"I couldn't ask for anyone better to take my place. I definitely am looking forward to seeing Bruce following in our footsteps," he said.
Ty Brininger, president of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, 322 Fraternity Row, believes the entire executive board will be successful.
"I think they'll all do a good job. They're all more than qualified," he said.
Two other elected officers who were installed last night were IFC Administrative Vice President Ed Kilpela from Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and IFC Treasurer Tyler Ridgeway from Acacia fraternity.
The appointed officers who were inducted were Executive Vice President Mark Freed from Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, Secretary Mike Tuscano from Delta Tau Delta fraternity, Board of Control Chairman Chris Schell from Phi Sigma Delta Sigma fraternity and Vice President of Membership Steve Gordon from Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity.
Committee chairmen were also installed along with six members of the IFC Board of Control and three Membership Committee sub-chairmen.
