A fire burned through the first floor and kitchen area of a two-story residential home located at the New Oak Grove housing development, 1480 Yardall Rd., yesterday morning.

Although nobody was injured, extensive smoke and heat damage was evident throughout the house, said Steven Triebold, Alpha Fire Company chief.

The Alpha Fire Company arrived with the Boalsburg Fire Company shortly after the fire was reported and successfully extinguished the flames.

The Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal is investigating, Triebold said.
