  • University students face pending drug and alcohol charges: University Police Services filed drug charges Tuesday against two University students and charged a third with a liquor law violation as a result of an incident that occurred Feb. 18 in Pinchot Hall.

Police charged James D. Truong of Chambersburg with possession of a small amount of marijuana, Jeffrey A. Wieboldt of Stroudsburg with possession of drug paraphernalia and Eric M. Kouvolo of Conway with possession of an alcoholic beverage while he was under 21 years old.

In a separate incident that occurred Jan. 13 in Hartranft Hall, University police charged Jonathan L. Timmes of 218 Pennypacker with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police will refer two other males who were in the room to the Office of Judicial Affairs.

The district justice has not set preliminary hearing dates yet for the four individuals, University police said.

  • Assault: The State College Police Department responded to a report of a heated argument at 420 E. College Ave., early yesterday morning.

Police said six males allegedly attempted to pick a fight with Nicholas Russo of 104 Hartranft. One of the men allegedly punched and kicked Russo's face.

Russo suffered two cuts on his face and was taken to Centre Community Hospital and released, police said.

Police said they do not have any suspects, but an investigation is continuing.

  • Theft: Kelly McKeon of 456 E. Beaver Ave. reported her wallet was stolen on Feb. 17 or 18, State College police said.

Police said the victim was informed that $800 worth of unauthorized charges were made on her credit cards before they could be canceled.

  • Theft: A University employee at Ritenour Health Center reported Tuesday that his toolbox was stolen from his office between Monday night and Tuesday morning, University Police Services said.

    The toolbox is worth $200.
