Two University students were stabbed after being held at knife-point for several hours by another student in their East Halls room early yesterday morning, University Police Services said.
Juan Lucio Villarreal of 115 Snyder was charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, two counts of false imprisonment and one count of prohibited offensive weapons, police said.
The two victims, who are roommates, were taken to Centre Community Hospital and treated for knife wounds. One of the students suffered a laceration to the left arm and a puncture wound to the left thigh. The other was treated for cuts to the left fingers and left hand, police said.
Both students were treated and released, police said.
Villarreal, from Brownsville, Texas, was arrested by police officers in his dorm room. The 18-year-old was arraigned before District Justice Robert Shoff and is being held in Centre County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 1.
