Thanks to dance marathon heroes

The weekend of Feb. 17 through 19 was a weekend that will be remembered by our family for a lifetime. We are referring to the memories we made at the 1995 Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon held at Penn State.

Our family was one of the 64 families in attendance who go through the trials and tribulations of childhood cancer every day. Marathon weekend is an uplifting, hope-building experience that keeps us believing that miracles can happen and that dreams can come true.

We wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in dance marathon '95 and offer special thanks to Phi Mu sorority and Alpha Xi Sigma fraternity, who adopted us and danced 48 straight for Felicia. A better group of young adults would be hard to find! Marathon is an experience we will never forget and hope to be able to experience the feeling it brings for many more years to come.

It has been said that a hero is someone who does what has to be done, when it has to be done, regardless of the consequences. Thank you to all of those involved with marathon at Penn State, specifically the dancers, for being heroes!
