An arraignment date for the 13 local residents arrested in last Thursday's drug bust in Bellefonte has been set for March 13 and will be held at the official Court of Common Pleas in Bellefonte.
Twelve of the 13 defendants waived their cases into court and are not required to attend a preliminary hearing, Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar said.
Robert H. Haines of Bellefonte was the only person who did not waive his case. His preliminary hearing will be rescheduled pending the decision by federal authorities to prosecute him under their jurisdiction, Assistant District Attorney Stephen P. Sloane said.
None of the defendants are required to attend the arraignment, which is simply an official reading of the charges, Sloane said.
