Icer gets into goal
By BRETT CIONE
I was upset at first, but I just learned to deal with it."
There is no question a difference exists between practice and game situations. Putting in the practice time and not getting playing game time can be frustrating.
"I'm a much better game goalie," Dolce said. "Practicing day in and day out makes it tough to keep play consistent."
In the four-goalie system employed by the Icers, the competitiveness among each of the goalies keeps them all striving to improve.
"It's very competitive -- every practice and game matters," Dolce said. "(But) the only thing that matters is if we get a ring at nationals in Tuscon."
Teammate Andrew Strasser said he was impressed with the opening performance of Dolce.
"He played well (Friday)," Strasser said. "He really looked and felt like he was comfortable there."
Battista agreed with Strasser that Dolce stepped right in and filled the role.
"He did well," Battista said. "I'm sure it felt good to get back in a game situation."
