Letter to the Editor
Be conscientious

With the most benevolent of assumptions, you were busy, distracted, in a hurry. The car in front of you stopped, and you didn't know where else to go. It horrifies me to consider that a five-week-old boy could have been left fatherless, because you were just annoyed and decided to pass another car at a turn, forcing me from my lane, and leaving me to spin toward the trees, creek and gas line, missing all by luck alone, during my rapid deceleration from 50 mph. I do hope that you spent the evening watching the news for any sign that you killed or injured someone, or that you drove by the State Correctional Institution at Rockview, looking at the skid marks, looking for blood or glass or evidence of what might have occurred after you continued down the road. I was fine, and my car with 100,000 miles on it (which by the way, I can't afford to replace, or maintain collision on) were only dirty. I hope your thoughts were filled more with guilt, than consideration of how or if you might be caught. More than anything I hope that you will drive much more conscientiously in the future, even though nothing bad happened this time.
