Grade politics
I don't know the politics, but I'd like to bring out a complaint about our University. In our University we can get an A, A-, B, B ... Where's the A? I had a class last semester were I averaged above a 100 percent and I can't be rewarded with an A (which would really help one's average). I say if you can do that type of work why not be rewarded? I had a 3.12 last semester and if I were at school with no pluses or minuses I probably would have had a higher grade point average, but that also gives us a little scholastic leverage. When a company sees we went to Penn State, they'll know the type of scale we had. But those minuses can really hurt. One may get a minus because he/she didn't show up to class all the time --which brings up another complaint. Professors with the power thing. If I can get a B and never show up for class then I deserve a B. Some teachers lower a student a whole letter grade. We paid for that class, and pay their salary. If we choose to waste our money and not show up for class that's our loss, they still get paid. With GPAs and college degrees meaning so much, we are being punished by minute details, when we are paying an arm and a leg for tuition.
