  • Alleged assault occurs near fraternity: A man was allegedly beaten Saturday night near a fraternity, inciting people at the fraternity to create a disturbance, the State College Police Department said.

    The man spotted four men throwing snow balls at Delta Chi fraternity, 424 E. Fairmount Ave., State College police said. When he yelled at them to stop, they allegedly beat him up, police said.

    Then the victim entered the fraternity and told one of the men inside about the incident, police said.

    A group of men who were inside Delta Chi fraternity ran outside the building and burglarized a house at 131 W. Fairmount Ave., threatening people and creating a disturbance, police said.

    Police said they have suspects and an investigation is continuing.

    The man was treated by University Health Services in Ritenour Building, police said.

  • Burglary: Two men forced their way into 501 E. Beaver Ave., Apt. 203, and assaulted Chong H. Song, 21, a University student, the State College Police Department said.

    Song suffered bruises and cuts to his face and was treated at Centre Community Hospital, police said.

    Song was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

  • Theft: A University student reported yesterday that a portable compact disc player from a vehicle was stolen while it was parked outside Kern Building, University Police Services said.

    The CD player is worth $150.24.

State College police are located at 243 S. Allen St. in the Municipal Building.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
