Police Log

  • Man arraigned on drug, traffic violations: Brian K. Dingis of Mechanicsburg was arraigned before District Justice Clifford Yorks yesterday on two counts of possession of illegal drugs and three traffic violations, the State College Police Department said.

    Police stopped Dingis at 400 E. Beaver Ave. for driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Dingis was cited for three traffic violations, including driving with a suspended license and unauthorized transfer of registration, police said.

    Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Dingis provided a false name. Two small bags containing marijuana were also found in a bag in the rear of the vehicle, police said.

    Dingis is being held in the Centre County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail, police said.

  • Drug Law Violation: A resident assistant reported a marijuana odor in McKean Hall yesterday, University Police Services said.

    When police arrived, no one was present, but drug paraphernalia was found in the area, University police said.

    Police are continuing the investigation.

  • Theft: Christina Jarvis of 425 Waupelani Drive reported Wednesday that her compact disc player and radar detector were stolen from her vehicle, State College Police Department said.

    The items are worth about $396.

  • Theft: James Visnovsky of Lemont reported yesterday that construction materials were stolen from a construction site at 226 Whitehall Road, State College police said.

    The materials are worth about $196.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
