Lots of bellyaching going on in Pennsylvania because Nebraksa was named No. 1 in college football. I'd like to remind Penn State fans that Nebraska didn't act this way in 1982 when both Nebraska and Penn State finished the season tied with one loss and Penn State was named No. 1. Nebraska's loss was by a few points to Penn State on their famous crooked field. But Penn State lost the next week by a huge margin to Alabama. So Nebraska was probably the better team. I'm sure their fans were disappointed, but they didn't cry about it. College football needs class programs like Nebraska's and Penn State's to counter the likes of Miami, Jackie Sherrill and Barry Switzer.
