Area man convicted of deviant crimes

A 33-year-old Port Matilda man was convicted Tuesday on charges stemming from several 1993 incidents of juvenile sex crimes, the Philipsburg state police said.

Donald Lee Lamey Sr. was convicted of 62 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, 44 counts of statutory rape, 40 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 40 counts of indecent assault, one count of endangering the welfare of children, seven counts of corruption of minors and one count of incest.

The violations involved seven children -- four girls and three boys -- between the ages of 11 and 16 and occurred during an 18 month period.

Lamey will be sentenced on Feb. 21 and is currently being held in Centre County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail, state police said.
