Concert announced

The University Concert Committee confirmed yesterday that Big Head Todd and the Monsters along with the Dave Matthews Band and special guest Ugly Americans, will take the stage at Rec Hall Feb. 12.

Tickets will go on sale Feb. 1 for Penn State ID card holders and Feb. 2 for the general public. The tickets, which will be sold at Eisenhower Auditorium, will cost $18 each. The show will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Both Big Head Todd and the Dave Matthews Band will receive equal billing, said UCC President Karen Pagani. Ugly Americans will open the show, followed by Dave Matthews and then Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Both headliners have built their reputations through almost constant touring and have a strong grassroots following. Both acts are veterans of the H.O.R.D.E. tour.

Getting those acts to appear in State College has been in the works for some time, said Stephanie Cutler, UCC publicity chair.

"We're excited to bring bands that appear to be upcoming," said Cutler, who is a fan of the Dave Matthews Band and looks forward to their State College debut.
