Traffic accident kills Port Matilda family

Four Port Matilda residents --two adults and two children --were killed in an automobile accident on state Route 220 Wednesday afternoon, the Philipsburg State Police said.

William and Lori Woodring and their two children, Luke and Lucy, were killed when William Woodring lost control of his vehicle and slid into the path of another vehicle operated by Earnest Neagle of Ormond Beach, Fla., police said.

The vehicle operated by Neagle struck the Woodring's vehicle in the right side killing everyone inside, police said. Neagle was wearing a seat belt and did not sustain any injuries.

Traffic along state Route 220 was stopped for two hours while the remnants of the vehicles involved were removed from the scene, police said.

Centre County Coroner Kerry Benninghoff pronounced the victims dead at the scene, police said.
