Stabbing renders one man critical, another on the run

A State College man was stabbed by another area resident early yesterday morning in a rooming house at 228 S. Atherton St., the State College Police Department said.

Robert D. Carrico of 324 Vairo Blvd. allegedly stabbed Theodore F. Enos of 169 Hilltop Trailer Court with a hunting knife just after midnight yesterday, police said.

Police said Carrico allegedly stabbed Enos twice in the chest and once in the abdomen. He also allegedly slashed Enos' head, police said.

Carrico is described as a white man who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown, shoulder-length hair, a mustache and a few days of beard growth.

Enos was taken to Centre Community Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and is currently in critical condition, police said.

Carrico allegedly fled the scene in a damaged 1985 Ford Escort with Pennsylvania registration, police said.

Carrico is still at large and should be considered to be armed and dangerous, police said, adding that a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Anybody with information about the suspect should contact the police at 911.
