The State College Police Department is investigating the reported rape and sexual assault of a female University student.

In a year fraught with declining enrollment, inflating tuition costs and decreasing funds for the Commonwealth Educational System, administrators are still hopeful of strengthening the system.

WILKES-BARRE -- In anticipation of University President Joab Thomas' retirement next fall, the University Board of Trustees announced Friday the trustees who will help search for his successor.

Although they graduated from the University in May, Amy Hollis and Kim Fleck both found their way back into town for the 28th Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.

Application and enrollment to the University increased this year with a new outlook and modified strategies developed by the Enrollment Management and Administration Office.

WILKES-BARRE --The University's 1994-95 proposed operating budget, presented at its Board of Trustees meeting Friday, outlines a $10.5 million reduction as part of a three-year plan to cut $30 million.

The 100-degree temperatures were missing this year. In fact, the weather conditions were almost ideal for the 19th Annual Nittany Valley Track Club Arts Festival 10K run.

On Tatoo's triangular stage, State College's lip syncers strutted their stuff this weekend, all trying to land a coveted appearance on the MTV show, "Lip Service," and have the chance to mouth the lyrics of their favorite tunes on national television.
