The State College Police Department is investigating the reported rape and sexual assault of a female University student.

The woman reported she was attacked by an unknown man at 3:30 a.m. yesterday in an apartment at The Graduate, 138 S. Atherton St., police said.

The assailant is described as a white, college-aged man with brown hair and a tanned complexion, police said. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and 170 pounds, with a tall, thin build, police said.

When last seen, the attacker was wearing denim shorts and a white T-shirt.

The investigation is continuing. Investigator John Wilson said he refused to comment about the case last night because he was at his home.
